The best part about mountain biking at Thredbo? You get to ride the chairlift back up again so you can save your pedal power for the downhill.
If you’re not after strenuous activities, then why not visit the Wild Brumby Distillery situated along the Alpine Way (towards Thredbo) or take a scenic drive to the micro-brewery at Dalgety. There are an abundance of things to see and do in the mountains and you don’t have to break your bank on your holiday.
Thredbo is one of Australia’s premier mountain biking destinations and this summer it takes freeriding and cross country exploring and action to a whole new level and elevation. With a new trail network and revamped existing tracks there is 25 kilometres of epic riding to enjoy in Thredbo. From downhill, cross country, all-mountain and a BMX style pump track there is lots to love about riding in Thredbo this summer. A brand new trail which currently is 14km long connecting Tyrolean Village all the way through jindabyne and on towards Snowline Caravan park and the turn off for Thredbo is nearing completion. The Tyrolean track can currently be ridden this summer and you will see plenty of enthusiasts in the afternoons tearing up the trails. Thredbo has great 3 days for the price of 2 days

THE MURRAY GATES
The Gates is the essence of class 4 technical rafting. If you’re after huge thrills, you’ll find them here, in the foaming cauldron of “Hells Gates”, turbulent birthplace of the Murray River. This narrow gorge descends rapidly between enormous boulders and towering cliffs. International river guides aspire to test their skills on the awesome technical rapids, providing one of the most challenging trips on the planet. The action starts immediately as you negotiate seemingly non-existent passage ways through rock-strewn corridors such as Sharks Tooth, Hole in the Head, Guides Mistake and Himalayan wrap. Rapids comprising of tight chutes, tall drops and immense boulders continue for 8kms.
